Six ways to start individual dog training.

Puppy routines, manners, private coaching, leash reactivity, potty and crate work, and leash and recall. Choose the situation you actually have.

Professional dog training, in the way this site uses the phrase, means teaching a handler and a dog a skill they can repeat without an audience. It does not mean a boarding kennel, a certification program, or a weekly class in a rented hall. Those formats are not offered.

Start with the situation you actually have. A new puppy usually belongs on the puppy page, even if the hardest moment is the leash or the puddle on the rug. An adult dog who already knows sit in the kitchen, and loses it at the door, usually belongs with obedience or leash work. A dog who barks and lunges when another dog appears belongs on the reactivity page, with the limits written there.

What you will not find in this list

Stillfern does not offer board-and-train, service-dog certification, therapy-dog certification, protection sports, agility, or group classes.

Basic dog training, in this library, is the overlap of the six pages: attention, a few cues, management, and a handler who knows what to repeat. If you are not sure which page fits, say so on the contact form. The process explains what a reply can and cannot promise.

Ask whether this fits.

Name the dog's age and the one situation you most want to change. That is enough to start.
